Weekly Summer Practice

Need help finding words with your speech sound or  want other suggestions for practicing? Go HERE.
  • Week 1 (May 27– June 2)  Think of 5 words each day that begin with your speech sound and try to say them correctly. Use each word you think of in a sentence and see if you can still make your speech sound correctly.
  • Week 2 (June 3 – June 9)  Read a book and look for words that have your sound in the beginning, middle, or end. Say the words out loud and read the sentence the words are in out loud.
  • Week 3 (June 10 – June 16)  Tell somebody about something you did every day that has your speech sound.
  • Week 4 (June 17 – June 23)  Each day, pick a different category and think of 5 words that have your speech sound and practice saying them (and use those words in a sentence):  Things that are yellow, things that are big, things that are small, things that are long, things that are round, things that are green, things that are noisy
  • Week 5 (June 24 – July 30)  Look around outside every day and find 5 things that have your speech sound and tell somebody about what you found.
  • Week 6 (July 1 – July 7)  Think of 5 words each day that have your speech sound in the middle and try to say them correctly. Use each word you think of in a sentence and see if you can still make your speech sound correctly.
  • Week 7 (July 8 – July 14)  Each day, pick a different category and think of 5 words that have your speech sound and practice saying them (and use those words in a sentence): fruits, sports, birds, famous people, plants/flowers, transportation, jobs, summer
  • Week 8 (July 15 – July 21)  Play a game with somebody every day. Before you take your turn, think of a word that has your speech sound and practice saying it (and use the word in a sentence).
  • Week 9 (July 22 – July 28)   Each day, pick a different category and think of 5 words that have your speech sound and practice saying them (and use those words in a sentence): things that you find in your house, things that you would see in a big city, things that you would see on a farm, things you would find in outer space, things you would find in the ocean, things you would find in a rainforest, things you would find in a desert, things you would find in a school, things you would find in a grocery store
  • Week 10 (July 29 – Aug 4)  Tell somebody every day about something you wish you could have or do that has your speech sound.
  • Week 11 (Aug 5 – Aug 11)  Think of 5 words each day that end with your speech sound and try to say them correctly. Use each word you think of in a sentence and see if you can still make your speech sound correctly.
  • Week 12 (Aug 12 – 18)  Tell somebody every day about something you can do to have a great school year that has your speech sound.
