Practice your speech sounds each week! 5-10 minutes each day is a great start. Practice at home or in the car.
Practice your sound(s) in words (when it is the first sound of a word, the last sound of a word, or somewhere in the middle). For example, if you are practicing the /r/ sound, words you could practice with are rabbit, summer, carrot. Then use those words in sentences you make up on your own (for example: I saw a white rabbit.).

Remember:
- It’s OK if you don’t get it right each time – it is practice.
- Sometimes it helps to work with somebody else – listen to the way they say the word and try to repeat the word after them. Or ask a partner to let you know when your speech sounds good or when it is not-quite-right.
- If you have trouble with a certain word after three tries– skip it and try a different word with your sound. Try that word another day.
